Bryn’s passion for working with the human body has taken him on a long journey from Olympic athlete and world champion rower, to advanced manual therapist, to trauma informed/psychotherapeutically informed body worker, and to First Nations and remote-travelling community therapist in the beautiful Chilcotin. Now Bryn shares his time between Victoria BC at two amazing multidisciplinary clinics and the Chilcotin region of B.C.
After graduating from UBC, Bryn began treating people in a one-on-one setting while completing his advanced diploma in manipulative therapy and practicing and teaching therapeutic yoga. For more than 20 years he has combined myofascial release, manipulative therapy, movement retraining, therapeutic exercise, trauma/tension release exercises (TRE), and functional dry needling, and now conscious connected breathwork and Numa Somatics to get to the heart of what a person brings into the room and facilitate the healing process.
As a lover of movement and nature, father of three boys, and husband to an active, nature-loving, amazing woman, Bryn has dived into many sports, including rowing, running, skiing (all three types), mountain biking, rock climbing, tennis, squash, swimming, hiking, and kite boarding. You name it, he has probably tried and possibly competed in it.
Bryn’s family adventures have brought him full circle back to Victoria where he spent most of his youth. He is thrilled to bring his enthusiasm and experience together to work with both Fix Healthcare’s and Rise Health’s talented teams and some of his long-time colleagues and mentors. He comes from his off-grid home in the Tatlayoko Valley in the Chilcotin where he continues to invest some of his time and energy.
